Information security in the workplace

Alma Mater employees benefit from a comprehensive ecosystem of IT tools and solutions. When using the services, it is necessary to take into account Information security policy and the conditions laid down by the manufacturers or service providers and related to use in an academic, non-commercial environment.

Ensure basic safety hygiene with the following:

  • with updated software;
  • with informed safe use:
    •  we open your email inbox withattention;
    • never share passwords with others (including colleagues, supervisors, technical staff), passwords are confidential;
    • When entering your password, make sure you enter your username and password on the correct (domain), secure and trusted connection (https);
    • Do not use the password you use on Alma Mater on any other system;
    • take an information security course: the National Cyber Security Response Centre SI-CERT has developed short online courses for employees. The 30-minute free-to-access online courses “Safe in the office” introduce employees to the basics of information security in a simple and easy-to-understand way;
  • by regularly backing up your data. Check that your backups are successful, i.e. that your data can be recovered. In addition to copies of your working documents, don’t forget to keep properly made copies of your digital certificates and copies of your Bitlocker key (if you use this type of protection), and

Users are reminded that Windows 10 operating systems with a version lower than 22H2 and Windows 7, Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 are not supported by the manufacturer and should not be used.
