Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is now essential for the secure use of online services. MFA is a security mechanism that requires more than one method of identity verification when accessing accounts and systems. Authentication factors can be something you know (password), something you have (security key), or something you are (biometric data). Since traditional authentication methods such as using passwords alone are becoming less reliable, MFA provides businesses and users with additional protection against breaches and unauthorised access.

MFA problems or reset
If multi-factor authentication (MFA) is not working (a changed or lost device) or you want to reset it, you can manage your security methods at aka.ms/mfasetup (if you still have access to your account). If you are locked out and cannot sign in, contact IT support (support@almamater.si) — the administrator will clear your MFA registration so you can set it up again following the steps above.
