When you claim your digital identity, you receive a university e-mail address. You will receive all messages from the University and messages from the VIS system on it, so check it regularly.
Your e-mail address is available throughout your studies. You can use it for:
- received and sent mail with a powerful overview of important messages,
- personal calendars, shared calendars, and meeting organization,
- a personal contact directory with access to the directory of all students, and
- tasks that help you keep track of all obligations.

Microsoft 365 licenses — what you get and when
Alma Mater University assigns Microsoft 365 licenses at two tiers, depending on the student’s current status. The license is adjusted automatically when status changes.
Microsoft 365 A3 (full license)
- Desktop and web Office apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook)
- Microsoft Teams (calls, video, meetings, files)
- OneDrive for Business — 100 GB cloud storage
- Exchange Online — university email mailbox with full capacity
- SharePoint, Forms, Stream, Planner, Bookings
- Access to services via AAI/eduroam login
Microsoft 365 A1 (basic license)
- Web versions of Office apps (browser only — no desktop installs)
- Exchange Online email (reduced functionality and capacity)
- No Microsoft Teams (calls, video meetings)
- No full OneDrive and SharePoint features

How to get the A3 license as an active pauser
If you have paid for active pause and your license has been automatically downgraded to A1, please contact us at support@almamater.si with proof of payment. We will manually reassign the A3 license within 1–2 business days.
Important (for pausers): even after switching to A1, your data in OneDrive and email remains stored — it is not deleted. When the license is restored to A3, you regain full access.
Alumni: upon completion of studies, the Microsoft 365 account is deactivated — access to email, OneDrive and all Microsoft 365 services ceases. Before graduation, download important files from OneDrive in time and archive any email you want to keep.
