In Moodle, Turnitin is available as an external tool, that is, as an activity. It lets you collect student submissions, obtain Similarity Reports for them and use the grading and feedback tools. These instructions cover the Turnitin LTI 1.3 integration.
Who these instructions are for: higher education teachers and teaching associates who use Turnitin in Moodle. The procedures are written step by step. Interface labels are given in English, exactly as they appear on your screen.

| Turnitin assignment | A Moodle activity in which the student submits a file or text. Turnitin processes the submission according to the assignment settings. |
| Similarity Report | A report that shows the parts of the text that are similar to sources in the databases Turnitin compares submissions against. |
| Similarity score | The proportion of the text in a submission that matches sources in those databases. On its own it does not mean plagiarism. |
| Feedback release date | The date and time from which the grade and the feedback are visible to the student in Turnitin. |
| LTI 1.3 | The standard through which Turnitin is connected to the Moodle learning environment. |
